It's the 14th consecutive year for the Eurobike show that kicks off the international trade show season for the bicycle industry and from its humble beginnings at the old Friedrichshafen Messe fairgrounds with 248 exhibitors, this year's Eurobike show has clearly established the exhibition as the world's most important trade show for bicycles and related products. "This is the premiere show for the international cycle industry," Messe Chief Exec Rolf Mohne proudly told Cyclingnews. "We have over 800 exhibitors this year, a new record from all five continents and 36 countries."

Look for exclusive, on the scene reports and photos of the newest bikes, components and other items from Eurobike on Cyclingnews over the next week.

One highly awaited debut at Eurobike will be SRAM's new road gruppo, as captured by Cyclingnews US Editor Mark Zalewski's spy shots at the USPRO Crit Championships in Downers Grove, Illinois. SRAM's Marketing Chief Dave Z (not to be confused with CSC's Dave "Z Dawg" Zabiskie) wouldn't let Cyclingnews get a sneak peak at the SRAM goodies yet, unless we could get past the SRAM Attack Robots guarding the gates.

The SramBots are actually sculptures built by a Japanese artist out of parts from SRAM, Rock Shox, Avid and Truvative components. "Intellegent Technology Brought To Life is the name ouf our new ad campaign", explained SRAM's Dave Z. The menacing 'bots and Dave Z promised the full-scale reveal for Cyclingnews once the show doors open on Thursday, September 1.
